For all who attended the Concert on Saturday, an ENORMOUS BIG THANK YOU! Donations totaled almost $2,000.00!! This amount, when matched by our still mysterious benefactor, will add almost $4,000.00 to the Refugee Sponsorship Fund!

It was quite enjoyable to watch the heads bobbing and fingers snapping in time to the music. I couldn't easily see the feet, but I expect they were busy tapping too ... just like mine! A great way to spend a cold afternoon. Thank you to every one associated with the Impressions Big Band Concert, both performers and volunteers. You have done Mr. Rogers' legacy proud!

"So, what is next for the Refugee Committee?" I hear you asking. Well, by timely coincidence, the Presbytery of Westminster and KPC are hosting a Refugee Sponsorship and Resettlement Conference on Saturday, 15 February from 9:15 am to 3:00 pm at Kerrisdale. This Conference will create a forum for church groups involved in refugee Sponsorship and Resettlement to share each other's experiences, make new connections and work collaboratively to support our refugees. The Conference is open to everyone at KPC. You don't have to be a member of the Refugee Committee

Are you curious about what goes on in the background with the Refugee Committee's application? Want to know what the alphabet soup of RSTP, SAH, IRCC means? This Conference is a good way to find out. No commitment is expected or required. We will be using a hybrid format to enable both in-person and on-line attendance.

The Agenda, Registration forms and other details are available at  sites.google.com/view/kpc-refcon24  Please register by February 7.  Lunch is included. The options are listed on the registration form.

Volunteers will be needed for setting up, serving lunch and refreshments and cleaning up. Please email kpc.refugee@gmail.com, or phone the church secretary at (604) 261-1434 if you can help out or have questions about the conference.

This in-person group is an opportunity to read the bible, ask questions and learn about Jesus with pastor Richard. We will be focusing on the gospel according to Luke. It's not too late to join so please let Richard know if you hope to be part of this.

KPC men's breakfast will be held at 8:30 a.m., Sat., Feb. 1, 2025, in the KPC church hall (on the north side of the church parking lot). The speaker will be our minister Richard Watson who will speak about KPC's Around the Well ministry. Please let our minister, or Kiejoon Kim know if you are coming. You can also put your name down on the sign-up sheet in the church narthex on Sunday mornings.

Donations received at the Feb. 1 men's breakfast meeting will be directed to KPC's Around the Well ministry. If writing a cheque, please make the donation in favour of Kerrisdale Presbyterian Church, along with a note in the memo line saying, "KPC's Around the Well ministry."

G-3 (Games, Giggles and Gab) will meet at Crofton Manor on Thursday, 13 Feb from 1:30 - 3:00 pm. Join us for a fun time with the residents. For more information contact Marg or Bill Buschman through the church office. Phone 604-261-1434 or email kpc@telus.net

Thank you for your generous offerings to the church last year. Tax receipts will be ready by the end of February.

If anyone wants to receive the electronic copy, please inform Jessica Ni at kpc.offerings@gmail.com  by February 16, 2025. Paper copies will be mailed out in early March.

If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to reach out.
