Public Health
When provincial authorities declared a public health emergency on March 17, 2020, we were no longer able to hold in-person worship services or offer any part of our facility for community activities. Session struck a reopening committee and gave it the task of gathering requirements for a safe re-opening of the facility when health authorities allowed such activities to resume. The result of their work was our original COVID-19 safety plan for those who worked in our facility and who recorded and live-streamed our worship services.
The committee continued its work throughout 2021 to respond to updates in the provincial health regulations. Our updated safety plans continued to serve us well for the first half of 2021. When Step 3 of the British Columbia Restart Plan came into effect on July 1, 2021, we used the safety plan as the basis of the Communicable Disease Prevention Plan we are now required to
have. Under that plan we were prepared to reopen the facility to in-person worship on July 25, 2021, and have remained open since then for both worship services and rentals.
