Enjoy Summer

Hope you are enjoying the summer.

Things are slowing down a bit at KPC. Summer is a perfect time to slow down, reflect on the beauty of God’s creation, enjoy fellowship in the sunshine, and engage in uplifting activities that warm our hearts and souls. In the next few weeks I will be taking some time away to rest with my family and "re-create."  I hope you are getting some time to rest and re-create too. It's a great opportunity to share in laughter, worship outdoors, and engage in some community events that make the most of the long, sunny days.  I have arranged Ministry Candidate Chorong Shin and our children and youth ministry director the Rev. Jaebok Gu to lead the worship service on Sunday August 18th and 25th.  I hope you continue to join us!

Blessings,
Richard

Ratanak’s Road to Freedom Challenge

Ratanak International is committed to protecting poverty-stricken Cambodians through their trafficking vulnerability prevention project, which they began in 2023. They do this through economic empowerment and career development for young people who are susceptible to being trafficked. Ratanak performs market assessments to ensure those being helped choose careers that fit the jobs available in their communities. To quote one of Ratanak's Cambodian Career Development Supervisors, “his project opens the doors for vulnerable people to see the world from a different perspective because they will not feel they are being neglected by society and they will start to realize that this is the plan that God has for them."

Next month Anahita Hirmanpour (https://www.roadtofreedomchallenge.com/anahita-Hirmanpour), Ramesh Mandani (https://www.roadtofreedomchallenge.com/ramesh-Mardani) Robyn Laidlaw (https://www.roadtofreedomchallenge.robyn-laidlaw) and Marg Buschman (https://www.roadtofreedomchallenge.com/margaret-buschman) will walk 5 km. in Ratanak’s Road to Freedom Challenge to raise money to help these hurting people. Thanks to those who have already donated. If you haven’t yet done so, please click on any one of the above links to help people who so desperately need our help. A tax receipt for donations over $20.00 will be issued in February 2025.

G-3 (Games, Giggles and Gab) will meet at Crofton Manor on Thursday, 29 Aug from 2 - 3:30 pm. Join us for a fun time with the residents.
